Universal fit earplugs are ready-to-wear, reusable plugs that don’t need ear impressions. You can start using them straight away.
Universal plugs use a standard shape that suits most ears. Custom made ear plugs are moulded from your own impressions for a more precise seal and all-day comfort. Universal plugs are a quick, affordable starting point.
The PACS universal range includes the Pro10, Pro15, Pro17, Pro20, Pro26, Pro27 and Pro31. The number indicates the level of filtering. Lower numbers suit moderate noise like cafes and concerts, while higher numbers suit louder environments.
Match the plug to the noise you’ll face most. If you’re not sure, our audiologists can recommend a level, or contact us for advice.
Prices vary by model. The PACS Pro10 is $299. Contact us for pricing on other models in the range.
No. Because they don’t require impressions, you can order them online. A visit is still worthwhile if you want help choosing a filter level.
Yes. Wash them with mild soap and water, dry them and keep them in their case. Replace the tips if they start to lose their shape or seal.
We don’t recommend it. Sharing earplugs can spread bacteria and ear infections, so each person should have their own pair.
Some ear canals are smaller, larger or shaped in ways a standard plug can’t seal. If they keep slipping out or feel uncomfortable, a custom-moulded pair is the better option.
Increased sensitivity to noise can sometimes come with hearing changes or tinnitus. Take our quick online hearing check or book a free hearing screening.
