Effective from 1st March 2026
At Audience Hearing, we are committed to providing high-quality, timely audiological care. To ensure appointment availability and maintain clinical efficiency, we require pre-payment for certain appointment types.
Appointments Covered by This Policy
A $145 pre-payment is required for the following appointment types:
- Evaluation — Child
- Evaluation — Children (0–4 years)
This applies to both:
- Private patients
- Medicare patients
Securing Your Appointment
To confirm your booking, a $145 pre-payment must be received at the time of booking.
Payment methods accepted:
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Bank transfer
You will receive:
- An appointment confirmation
- A payment receipt
⚠ If the $145 pre-payment is not received, the appointment will be automatically cancelled.
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you once payment has been received.
Why We Require Pre-Payment
When appointments are cancelled at short notice or patients do not attend, it prevents us from offering that time to another child who may require assessment.
This policy helps us to:
- Reduce late cancellations and no-shows
- Improve access for families requiring timely care
- Allocate clinician time and paediatric assessment resources efficiently
- Maintain high professional and clinical standards and to cover the costs of our staff, equipment, and facilities.
- By paying in advance, you are making a commitment to your child’s health and well-being, and you are more likely to attend your appointment and achieve your goals.
Rescheduling or Cancelling Your Appointment
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. However, we require adequate notice.
- 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
If you provide:
- More than 48 hours’ notice:
- Your $145 may be refunded, or
- Held as a credit for a future appointment (your choice).
- Less than 48 hours’ notice:
- The $145 pre-payment will be forfeited.
- Failure to attend (no-show):
- The pre-payment will not be refunded or credited.
If Your Child Is Unwell
We understand that children can become unwell unexpectedly.
If your child is unable to attend due to illness and you provide a valid medical certificate from your GP, we are happy to:
- Provide a full refund, or
- Transfer the $145 to the rescheduled appointment
This ensures fairness while maintaining appointment availability for other families.
If We Need to Reschedule
If we need to reschedule your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered:
- A full refund, or
- A credit toward a future appointment
whichever you prefer.
Our Commitment to You
This policy allows us to:
- Maintain appointment availability for families
- Provide dedicated clinical time for paediatric assessments
- Ensure efficient operation of our clinic
- Continue investing in specialised equipment and professional staff
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and look forward to supporting your child’s hearing health.
