I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Muhammad Mustafa. We needed to quickly replace my mother’s hearing aid receiver, and Muhammad not only handled it promptly but also conducted a comprehensive examination of her hearing. He even provided a demo hearing aid until the new receiver arrived. Very caring and professional service.
Estelle and I wish to thank Musthafa for his thorough service making sure that our experience and result gave us the hearing assessment and then correct hearing aids to suit our needs.
Also we are pleased there is a follow up maintenance programme in place to see to our future needs.
He showed care and politeness during all our consultations.
Dr. Mohammed Mustafa (Audiologist) came to see some elderly clients and assess their hearing. Families feedback with the service provided was that he was genuinely caring and patient in dealing with their elderly parents. Dr Mohammed Mustafa showed experience, and expertise in how he can help with the elderly’s hearing issue. Highly recommend Audience to anyone who is looking for ear health services.
So awesome I never knew how much hearing I was missing out on, thank you Audience Hearing
This was my first time visiting Audience Hearing Leppington and honestly I was impressed by Dr Mustafa’s services. He was very helping to fix my hearing aid and arrange loaner device too. I’m very satisfied with Audiences Hearing Leppington.
Highly recommend! My 15 year old went to see Musthafa at Leppington and he made her feel so comfortable, talked her through every step so she knew what was happening and built up a rapport with her from the very start. Couldn’t speak more highly of the experience.

There are six main hearing aid styles:
Behind‑the‑ear (BTE): Good for a wide range of hearing loss and ages.
In‑the‑ear (ITE): Sits in the outer ear—discreet yet powerful.
In‑the‑canal (ITC) and Completely‑in‑canal (CIC): Small, discreet for mild‑to‑moderate loss.
Receiver‑in‑canal (RIC): Slim design with improved sound quality.
Bone‑anchored hearing aids (BAHA): For conductive or single‑sided deafness.
Your audiologist will recommend the ideal style based on your hearing loss severity, ear anatomy, lifestyle, dexterity, and cosmetic preference.
They convert sound into digital signals, which are amplified and delivered via a receiver into your ear. They often include advanced tech like adaptive feedback cancellation to reduce whistling or squealing sounds.
If you have hearing loss in both ears, wearing two is strongly recommended. It supports balance, sound localization, and overall cognitive stimulation. Using only one can lead to auditory deprivation in the unaided ear.
Hearing tests: Annually, or sooner if you detect changes.
Aid servicing: At least yearly alongside your test. For warranty coverage, send them back for manufacturer servicing just before the 3‑year mark.
Repairs: Outside warranty, expect to pay AUD 100–400 in Australia.
Most hearing aids last 3–5 years with proper care.
Battery life varies: small CIC/IIC devices last 3–5 days per disposable battery; rechargeable models offer different durations.
Yes. All eligible Australian citizens/residents can access government-subsidised basic hearing aids through the Hearing Services Program. You may pay extra for premium features like Bluetooth or rechargeability.
The TGA approved AirPods Pro 2 to help those aged 18+ with mild‑to‑moderate hearing loss, offering an accessible, less stigmatised option. But audiologists emphasise they’re more suitable for situational use (dining, TV), not as full-time corrective devices—professional fitting and assessment remain vital.
ALDs support hearing aids by improving clarity in challenging settings. They include:
These are often used alongside hearing aids to enhance speech understanding.
Invisible styles (IIC/CIC) sit deep in the canal and are highly discreet. Ideal for mild‑to‑moderate loss, they offer natural sound and low wind noise. Limitations include fewer features (e.g., no Bluetooth), smaller batteries, potential earwax/moisture build-up, and not suitable for severe loss or small ear canals.
Audience Hearing offers a complete pathway from screening to lifestyle integration.
